Vale do Lobo is famous for its enviable golf facilities and two beautiful and challenging golf courses – the Royal and the Ocean – both of which play host to a number of international events throughout the golfing year, including the Portuguese Open.

António Martins Mendes Tournament

An annual golf tournament that joins the Portugal’s media in the resort since 2005.
The event, which pays homage to the late Jornal de Notícias journalist António Mendes, continues as popular as ever.

Daily Telegraph Matchplay tournament

The Daily Telegraph Matchplay Championship Finals event, organised by GMM (Golf Marketing Management Ltd), has now become somewhat of a tradition at the resort, celebrating its 15th year in 2010.
Entries to participate are received from members of golf clubs from all over the United Kingdom, with 40 final participants selected to compete for the coveted individual and pairs Betterball titles.

XI Banif – Investment Bank tournament

This annual event, organized by the Banif banking group, gathers more then 120 participants for some competitive fun, followed by a sophisticated prize giving dinner in the gardens at Spikes Restaurant.

Audi Quattro Cup

Prestigious championship which witnesses some spectacular play and a strong convivial atmosphere.
The participants play either Ocean or Royal Golf Courses in what has become an annual tradition, followed by a special lunch at Spikes Restaurant.

RPA Masters Tournament

The Rugby Players Association (The RPA), the representative body for all professional rugby players in the Aviva Premiership and also the exclusive commercial agents to the England rugby team, has chosen to host its RPA Masters golf tournament at Vale do Lobo in 2010.
The event, which is being organised in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz, Official Car of the RPA is a high profile golfing and social occasion.

Celebrity Golf Challenge

Celebrity Golf Challenge – a unique event that sees a number of retired celebrities from the sporting world join together in a friendly competition along the resort courses.

Two teams enjoy this friendly rivalry; split in famous cricketers and another of renowned footballers.
