Salt, water and natureThe design of the spa is inspired by the salt mines of Loulé, whose vast, silent caverns are renowned for their health benefits, due to both the properties of the rock salt itself and the environment of absolute calm the caverns provide. The word spa is an acronym of the latin "sanus per aquum", or "healing through water", based on the principle that water is the very origin of life and possesses special healing powers. Thus the most basic foundation of this sanctum is water. This also reflects of course the prevailing influences of Vale do Lobo´s environment: the Atlantic Ocean and the Natural Reserve of the Ria Formosa. |
From the moment of entry into the spa, water caresses the senses, evident to the eyes and ears in crystal glass walls and cascades and to the body in the various hydrotherapies available, which include a vichy shower, salt baths, hydro-massage and steam therapies. Nature provides the third part of the Royal Spa theme, reflected in its organic design – the antithesis to clinical treatment centres. Using natural elements such as wood, stone, plants and water, the spa reflects pure nature, providing a comforting haven from the stresses of daily life. Products based on organic plant extracts, sea algae and natural essential oils help clients to unwind. |
