VDL CAR HIRE SERVICE
Cycling is a great way to discover Vale do Lobo and the wider Algarve. With hundreds of kilometres of paths to follow, you can take in the sights of the region that most appeal to you.
Cycle hire is available at the Car Hire office and can be rented by the hour, by the day or for longer periods. All bikes come with a helmet and security lock.
SMART BIKES
Our electric bike-sharing service helps property owners travel between key areas of the resort in an environmentally friendly way. Not only will it help cut down on car and bus use, but it will also help to control parking levels.
The bikes can be found at the following locations around the resort:
- Parque do Golfe
- The Praça
- Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy
- Pingo Doce supermarket at the entrance to the resort.

VALE DO LOBO CYCLING EXPERIENCE
MTB VDL TO FARO 35K
Twice a month, Vale do Lobo invites its owners, guests and general public to discover the wonderful trails between Vale do Lobo and the Faro island.
Whenever possible, avoiding the road, this stretch of about 35 km (going and back) is highly marked by the surrounding nature. Always with the Ria Formosa on the horizon, on the way to Faro beach it is possible to catch a glimpse of different species of birds, salt pans and even the activity of harvesting live bivalve molluscs (clams, oysters, cockles). The low rhythms of this tour, allow that during this physical activity, participants can be intimately connected and attentive to the culture and tradition, so present and marked in the Ria Formosa and on the Faro island. This experience starts at the resort reception and lasts 3 hours (approximate average time).
Bicycles must be provided by the user, but if you do not have your own bicycle, you should rent it at the reference store in Vale do Lobo - VDL Car Hire, on the previous day. We recommend the use of a helmet, as well as a water-filled dispenser so you can hydrate yourself on the way. The sunscreen is essential to be applied before the experience, to avoid sunburn during the activity.
