Summer in Vale do Lobo wouldn't be the same without the highly anticipated intimate open-air concerts and this year's programme promises to truly surprise and dazzle with new and exceptional concerts in the welcoming setting of the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy! 

In a new lounge area specially developed for this purpose, overlooking the tennis courts and the surrounding pinewood, the concerts take place in a very relaxed and informal concept that appeals to all family and ages. The diversified musical programme brings together exceptional quality formations and artists with distinct genres that include samba, fado, jazz, soul, classical and pop.

As one of this year's summer music sessions at the resort, the fusion/World Music band "Plasticine" promises a contagious and unforgettable show of rhythm and sound, not to be missed!

"Afrobeat, soul, funk, jazz and the world in general all in one danceable wrapper. This band simmered with a blazing brass section, guitars and keyboards and a drum/percussion base holding it all together. No tricks or gimmicks, just pulsing music from a band with an energy that is transmitted directly from the stage to the audience" is the description made by World Music Central about Plasticine's concert at Med 2022 Festival.

Plasticine is an innovative fusion/World Music band that defies sound boundaries. It is music that crosses genres by combining elements of progressive rock, funk, jazz and soul and spans geographical boundaries by infusing afrobeat as well as Latin and Eastern influences into its sound. In summary, it is an interweaving of fibres from different backgrounds to create a unique musical tapestry.

Three years after the release of their first album, the band has played in various auditoriums and festivals, including MED, and in September 2022 they released their second work: "The Most Beautiful Skies", an album that deals with global and individual battles and the feeling that arises when you look up at the sky and it seems the most beautiful you have ever seen, for having achieved something.

The album features several special guests, including João Frade, on themes such as "Freud's Icebergs" about climate change, and has already received several mentions on international music blogs.

Plasticine's growth has also been exponential on streaming platforms, with more than 5000 monthly listeners on Spotify. The most listened to songs are "In Vain", "Funkycine" and "Psyclone" and the song "Time Knife" has even been nominated for two IPMA awards.

This event is part of the Vale do Lobo 2023's diversified programme of intimate concerts, bringing together amazing quality artists in an exclusive outdoor musical performance, with a limited number of participants, in the brand-new welcoming lounge setting area overlooking the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy courts.

"Vale do Lobo Summer Intimate Concerts" were specially created to provide the resort's clients and visitors with true cultural, social and leisure moments during the summer months, in an sunset atmosphere of total relaxation for all the family.
