Golf Club History
A golf destination of choice for over half a century.
The Vale do Lobo Golf Club has been the home of two of the finest golf courses in the Algarve since 1968.
It was around this time that overseas golfers were starting to come to the Algarve, attracted by the excellent weather and a friendly welcome. It’s these qualities, together with the area’s outstanding courses and excellent amenities that make the Algarve the European golf hot-spot it is today.
In those early days, golf was new to the region, and many of the caddies and staff had to be trained to accommodate demand. As a testament to their dedication, some of these people now hold important positions in the Portuguese Golfing world.
Being one of the first golf clubs in the Algarve defined Vale do Lobo as a leading golf resort very early on. Today, we proudly uphold our reputation as one of Portugal’s must-play golf destinations.
