A fun day-out for the family in the Algarve

Apart from being a children’s theme park, with mini-golf, a petting farm, pony rides and a fairground, Krazy World it is also home to the Algarve Zoo which is home to reptiles, snakes and other animals.

There is also a swimming pool area complete with water slide for those who need to cool off during the warmer summer months.

This fantastic annual sand sculpture exhibition is the world's largest sand sculpture event with sand sculpture activities for all ages.

International Sand Sculpture Festival - FIESA is an enormous sand sculpture exhibition site in the Algarve and each year the festival is dedicated to a different theme. It was first opened in 2003 by a group of talented sculptors who manage to use their skills and creativity to bring the sand to life and construct amazing and magical pieces.

This is an event you can not miss. Fantastic by day and by night, from 15th April to 15th October.

Family Golf Park

Take on two 18-hole mini golf circuits and explore the unique themed landscapes.

Enjoy mini golf in a beautifully landscaped area and see who will be crowned the winner of the two 18-hole mini golf circuits. 

Organise a family tournament or if you prefer, just relax on the esplanade while your children have fun in the playground, which may also be used for birthday parties.

After the golf take a walk into Vilamoura or see the whole town by travelling on the tourist train which departs directly from the golf park.

Lagos Zoo

About a fifteen minute drive north west from Lagos, near Benasfrim, you'll find Lagos Zoo.

It is not huge, but there are plenty of animals and birds to see.

Best of all are the apes, which reside on their own island paradise and can be seen palying and interacting with each other in the lush surroundings.

There are more educational things for the kids to get involved in, as well as a petting farm and children's playgrounds...

Aqualand Algarve is one of the largest water parks in Europe.

The water park is now part of a chain of water-amusement parks operated by a Spanish tourism group (for years the park was called The Big One). 

Overall there are five Aqualands in Spain, one in Portugal, and seven in France. 

Aqualand Algarve is easily accessed via the N125 from all areas of the Algarve and offers free parking for visitors arriving by car as-well as free buses from major towns in the southern coast of Portugal.
